Request for input into the development of a new regulation on Data Protection

An archivist working with business archives (with working appreciation of data protection) is required to input into the development of a new piece of regulation on DP issues.

Susan Healy from The National Archives is working on a project in connection with the draft EC data protection Regulation. The plan is to develop a code of conduct for EU archives services under Article 38 of the draft Regulation. This has been proposed to the EC as part of a package of suggested amendments to the Regulation designed to protect archives services and follows a recent meeting of the European Archives Group (EAG) in Cyprus. EAG is an advisory group composed of representatives of national archives within the EU and is chaired by an EC official.
