DPC advocacy event

Registration is now open for the Digital Preservation Coalition's first ‘Advocating for Digital Preservation’ training event, to be held at the Worshipful Company of Information Technologist’s Hall in London on Monday 4th December.

Attendees are invited to join this day-long training session with Communications professional and MD of DHR Communications, Catherine Heaney. With over 20 years’ experience in the fields of media relations, politics, public affairs and management, Catherine has an excellent understanding of the heritage and culture space in Ireland. She has provided communications training to senior politicians, business leaders and heads of institutions, as well as internal communications and advocacy training to members of the Archives and Records Association. Catherine is also chairperson of the National Museum of Ireland and until 2014, served on the board of the Heritage Council.

This one-day training workshop will provide attendees with skills and ideas for identifying stakeholders and champions required to affect change, ways to showcase digital preservation as an indispensable service for their organisation and resources to help support their organisational advocacy activities.

Registration is free for members of the DPC and £50 for non-members. The workshops usually fill up quickly, so early registration is recommended. Cancellations will be accepted until one week before the event, a 'no show' fee of £50 will be charged for those who cancel after this time.
