BAC and BACS announce joint conference call for papers

The Business Archive Council and the Business Archive Council Scotland are coming together to host a joint conference on the 8th November 2023. This one-day event will be held at the HSBC Head Office in Canary Wharf in London from 9.30am – 4.30pm.

Announcing the 2023-24 BAC research support bursary

Encouraging interest in and study of business history and archives is a key priority of the BAC and last year, we were delighted to relaunch our Research Support Bursary. Made possible by the generosity of Sir Peter Thompson, former Chairman of the National Freight Corporation, and the Wellcome Foundation, the bursary provides financial support for researchers to access business and organisational archives who would not otherwise be able to do so.

The survey of HIV/AIDS records in England and Wales is being undertaken by the West Sussex Records Office (WSRO) based in Chichester, West Sussex. This 2 year project is funded by Annabel’s Foundation, set up by the founders of the HIV/AIDS charity, AVERT.

ICA-SBA, in collaboration with the Diageo Archive, will be running an in-person conference between 25 and 26h September 2023 in Edinburgh at Johnnie Walker Princes Street. Business archivists interested in presenting practice-based papers on the conference theme 'Engaging with our Audiences' are invited to submit proposals.

Call for Papers for EAHB workshop

The European Association for Banking and Financial History (eabh), in cooperation with Deutsch Bank AG, will be running a financial archives workshop titled Banks Build: A close look at financial institutions’ ‘building’ roles. The workshop will take place on 29th June 2023. Deadline for submission is 15 Feburary 2023.
